Re the Green Provocatuer`s Item on Sainsbury`s Plastic Bag`s he quoted a
Statistic from The Scottish Executive
The Scottish Executive recently calculated that the oil used to manufacture eight plastic carrier bags would power an average car for a kilometre. Therefore, if we all either brought our own reusable bags or reused cardboard boxes for our groceries, we could save enough oil to drive 2,125,000,000 kilometres by road.

Now considering the Cost of Road Maintenance as well as the Pollutionary effect re Noise and Ecological damage as well as The Health aspects to the surrounding community caused by a car travelling that distance...
also we are not told if this proverbial car is carrying one or more passengers also is it necessary for this journey This is
what conservationists get accused of not working out the details
Yes I know it is a quote by The Scottish Executive which is wellknown to support the RoadLobby
in Scotland but by using this in what is an otherwise than the Sainsbury part a reasonable article
Gives Succour to
a) The Scottish Executive`s Road Lobby Led Policies
b) Does The Green Provocatuer realise how many re-uses Plastic Bags have
If He wants to Attack Waste Let Him Like Lush`s Boss attack The Plastic
Bubble Packaging which has no re-usable possibilities at all
and Leave me My Plastic Bags
