Energywatch Consumer Watchdog To Go

The consumer watchdog, Energywatch, is to merge with Postwatch and the National Consumer Council in October of this year, bringing an end to their complaint handling support. A forum has therefore been set up in the interim on which consumers can voice their concerns and ask questions of Energywatch.

To register (free) for the forum visit the Energywatch Forum website where you can also enter a survey with the opportunity to win an energy efficient appliance up to the value of £500.

Britons Not Getting Green Enough

The Office for National Statistics yesterday announced that research indicates that Britons are doing well at becoming more green in some areas of their lives, but that the continuing rise of car and air travel more than counteracts this. Whilst recycling is on the increase, waste levels as a whole don't appear to be diminishing and only people in London and Yorkshire seem to be using their bicycles more. Londoners seem to be the greenest in terms of travel, walking and cycling more than their fellow countrymen.

Environmental groups are calling for the government to do more to help people become greener in light of these latest findings.
