REVIEW - Fresh & Green Anti Bacterial All Purpose Cleaner

The Fresh & Green Anti Bacterial All Purpose Cleaner is easy to use as it is dispensed using a spray nozzle, and it only has to be left for a very short time before wiping off. It also doesn’t come with the nasty chemical smell associated with some similar products, and, in fact, there is only a very faint fresh, quite natural scent. Without scientific tests, I have to put my trust in the anti bacterial claims of the Fresh & Green Anti Bacterial All Purpose Cleaner, but I have had no issues with its cleaning abilities. I personally use it particularly in the bathroom, but it is also ideal for kitchens and other hard surfaces such as dining tables and high chairs.

REVIEW - Magic Fairy Out & About Cleansing Spray

The Magic Fairy Out & About Cleansing Spray has a fresh, clean smell and a multitude of cleansing uses. I have made use of it to clean children’s hands when sprayed onto a cloth, for wiping down surfaces such as high chair trays both at home and when out and for wiping up toilet training accidents. Its antiseptic properties give me confidence that it is doing a good job of cleaning and its natural ingredients make it preferable to using harsh chemicals especially on children’s skin. The 250ml bottle (great for popping into a handbag or change bag) also lasts for ages as you only need a little squirt, which makes the £6.70ish price tag more agreeable.

REVIEW - Ecover Non Bio Integrated Washing Powder

I have previously used a variety of washing powders but wished to try a more eco-friendly alternative. Ecover Non Biological Integrated Washing Powder was an obvious choice with its raft of environmentally friendly features. This product is quite expensive when compared to other washing powders, however, at about £3.30 per kg, and it doesn’t seem to go as far. With regards to the cleaning ability, I found it to be reasonable with relatively clean laundry, but less effective with dirtier items, even though, unlike the Ecover Non Bio Original Washing Powder, it states that the addition of Ecover Laundry Bleach with whites is not required. This was disappointing as I hoped that the effectiveness of Ecover Non Biological Integrated Washing Powder might outweigh the extra cost.

REVIEW - Ecover Non Bio Laundry Liquid

The Ecover Non Bio Laundry Liquid is competitively priced at about £2.50 per litre and the recommended dosage is fairly low so, in theory, your bottle should last a while. I was a little disappointed, however, in the cleaning ability of the Ecover Non Bio Laundry Liquid, particularly if using only the recommended dose. Whilst relatively ‘clean’ loads of washing came out ok, the product seemed to struggle with dirtier washing when compared to other brands of non biological laundry liquid I have used in the past. The manufacturer does recommend using their Laundry Bleach for white loads to improve cleaning, but this of course adds to the cost of the wash.

REVIEW - Balm Balm Fragrance Free Face Balm

The Balm Balm Fragrance Free Face Balm is 100% organic, not tested on animals and Soil Association approved.

The Balm Balm Fragrance Free Face Balm basically replaces a moisturiser in your skin care routine, but feels somewhat different to classic creams and lotions. I would describe it as somewhere between a lotion and gel in initial texture and this thins out between warm fingers. You then simply apply as you would a moisturiser but you don’t need much to get decent coverage. I was very impressed with the Balm Balm Fragrance Free Face Balm, after initial doubts on seeing the nature and texture of the product. It actually feels lovely when on the skin and does a great job of moisturising. Whilst aimed at facial care, the balm is also great for areas of dry skin on other parts of the body. Because you don’t need to use much to be effective, the 30ml tube also lasts for ages, making the price of about £6 pretty good value.

REVIEW - Ecover Multi Surface Cleaner

The Ecover multi surface cleaner is designed for all washable hard surfaces around the home. Its ingredients are biodegradable, not tested on animals and the product is suitable for use with septic tanks.

I have tried the Ecover multi surface cleaner for various applications around the home including wooden and linoleum floors, and kitchen surfaces. As per the manufacturer’s claims, you don’t need to use much of the liquid to be effective even on large areas such as floors. It cleans effectively and doesn’t have the harsh chemical smell of many products. I was certainly impressed with the Ecover multi surface cleaner as an all-round product and at around £2 per litre it is competitively priced against similar products.

REVIEW - Ecover Cream Cleaner

Like other similar products on the market, the Ecover cream cleaner is designed to get rid of tough stains on a variety of household surfaces without scratching. It is advertised as being fully biodegradable and not tested on animals, and is also promoted as suitable for septic tanks.

I tried this out mainly on bathroom surfaces where it definitely helped to shift ‘tide marks’. It was also effective at removing children’s crayon marks from wooden surfaces! Having used a variety of other brands in the past, I found the Ecover cream cleaner to be just as effective. Retailing at around £1-£1.30 for a 500ml bottle, the Ecover cream cleaner is a little more expensive than supermarket own-brand products, but is competitively priced against the bigger names in this area.

REVIEW - Balm Balm Fragrance Free Lip Balm

The Balm Balm fragrance free, 100% organic lip balm is Soil Association approved and not tested on animals. It comes in a small 7ml pot which is perfect for popping in your handbag or make up bag and I was impressed on trying the product out. The lip balm has a rather firm texture but this does prevent you using too much whilst still being fairly easily applied with a warm finger! The fact that this is an organic lip balm really appealed as this is such a sensitive area, and the product did its job of soothing and protecting well. An added bonus is that this organic lip balm is not expensive compared to many organic skincare products, with a price tag of about £2.99.
