REVIEW - Trains on the Brain

Whilst Trains on the Brain doesn’t have an explicitly environmental feel to it, train travel is often a very green way to travel, and hence why we are reviewing the site here. This blog has an informal feel but clearly categorises all its posts making it easy to find those most relevant to you. And it’s not just about the UK; there is a great deal of information on international train travel including plenty of anecdotal information and advice.

REVIEW - Energenie Power Meter

Once the device is plugged in and ready to go you need to follow the instructions carefully to set information such as the pricing for electricity (which you can get from your electricity bill or possibly your supplier website). This then enables you to not only see what energy is used but how much that is costing you. The option of setting two prices is a good feature if you are on a different rate at different times of day. For more detail on the information you can look at on the device and any teething problems, the FAQ on the energenie website is very useful.

REVIEW - Energenie 30 Minute Rundown Timer

This product will certainly appeal to some consumers as it is easy to leave appliances such as hair straighteners switched on thus creating a fire hazard. The device cannot be set for longer or shorter time spans, but given the appliances it is aimed at this is not a big issue. By simply pressing the green button again once the initial 30 minutes is up the device is reactivated enabling continued usage (although 30 minutes of ironing is quite enough for me)!
